Why ClickPlay Still Matters to Us

Why ClickPlay Still Matters to Us

After a bit of time away (see previous post!) — with his beach brain firmly switched on — Tom came back ready to get back into game-making.

Which was perfect timing, because we designed a ClickPlay game while we were on holiday.

Yep. The OG.

ClickPlay is great for a reset. It’s the kind of game that gets the game-making brain firing again — playful, a little unpredictable, and built around curiosity rather than instructions. You click. You try things. You think. Sometimes you get it wrong. Then you click again.

ClickPlay is very much a Ninjadoodle original.

There’s no tutorial announcing what you’re meant to do, and no concept explained upfront — but something is always happening underneath. Patterns emerge. Cause and effect reveal themselves. That quiet satisfaction of figuring something out for yourself kicks in.

That’s exactly why ClickPlay sits at the heart of Ninjadoodle.

It captures a lot of what we care about:
fun first, thinking woven in naturally, and just enough challenge to make your brain lean in.

We’ve decided that ClickPlay will always be free.

Not as a teaser.
Not as a funnel.

Just because it represents the spirit of what we do.

It’s our way of saying, “Have a play. See what you think.” It also gives Tom a familiar place to start whenever he’s coming back from time away and wants to ease back into building.

ClickPlay will be something we release monthly — small, self-contained, and deliberately a little quirky. Each one stands on its own, but together they form a thread that runs right through Ninjadoodle’s past and into what we’re building now.

They’re designed to make you pause, notice, and think.

And then, of course… click play. 🙂

Keep an eye out for the new ClickPlay at launch on 28 February 2026.

We’re excited.
